Following on from the success of Articulate’s debut EP staying at #1 in both the UK Garage and the Breakbeat chart on Juno for two weeks, and also being named “One of the most consistent curator channels in modern broken and bass music” by Juno Download themselves, Articulate take a step further with the release of a brand new EP by a new name to the Bass world in ‘Doc Zee’. His debut EP comprises of three different original flavours and three remixes from the likes of Midnight Phulin’s 808 driven anthem, Rho’s melodic masterpiece and Hutchinson's club ready stomper.

The lead track “Feel Free” begins with elegant, dreamy vocals complemented by UK Funky beats and pulsating subs before turning over to the dark side and switching it up with deep reeses.

Contagious takes UK Funky broken beats and adds stuttery vocals, breakbeat fills, long evolving pads and Chicago House stabs to fuse one big banger sure to shut down any rave!

Oblivious follows suit with a big reese bassline however this time is surrounded by huge breakbeats, trippy pads and chopped up vocals with a truly old skool flavour.

With recent releases with the likes of Punks Music and Saucy Records, ‘Midnight Phulin’ have been gaining a huge reputation for themselves and it’s easy to see why. Their take on Feel Free strips it back and brings rolling hats, detuned synths and big 808’s to the mix.

Hutchison is a name who is making waves in the scene, with 4 tracks up on ‘Deeprot’, support from the likes of Skepsis, Darkzy and Mr Virgo and a huge amount of shows lined up over the coming weeks, we are glad to be able to get him back on board with us for an official remix. With three previous free downloads with Articulate, this time he brings a big bass vibe with a dirty bassline and dark horns before going on to fuse dubstep elements into a second drop worthy of any sound system.

Rho steps up to the plate and delivers an Articulate first in a melodic masterpiece of a drum and bass track, worthy of any label out there. He takes the vocals and adds fast paced drum n bass beats, sexy sax, hypnotic pads, a big reese bassline and ridiculous amounts of energy. With recent releases on the likes of Skank and Bass and Soulvent Records and also support from the likes of Friction on BBC Radio One, it’s fair to say Rho has a bright future ahead.
